This website gives a glimpse into how distributed problem solving can make our investments in sustainable development more specific to local contexts. It offers examples that show how working with a systems approach can reveal hidden dynamics and help deal with uncertainty. And how people-powered tech can fill data gaps for the Sustainable Development goals.

Now that we know how collective intelligence adds value to sustainable development efforts, we need to take these use cases from the fringes to the core. We need to organize intelligence at scale so that tapping into collective intelligence becomes 21st century common sense. To do this, we’ll need to think big to lay the foundation to combine the power of data and machines, while we keep people and purpose at the heart of what we do.

Within UNDP Accelerator Labs our challenge now is to work with partners to make tapping into distributed intelligence a normal part of our contribution to sustainable development.  UNDP’s collective intelligence investments are focusing on:
